I have been on a reflective journey about parent-school partnerships and the role school leaders play in strengthening these relationships.  This has helped me gain more clarity about social dilemmas that beset most inner-city schools, families, and communities."

Background  

As Co-Founder and CEO, Dr. NNeka Harrison is committed to leading Inward Journeys Consulting into the 21st Century with vision, dedication, and a determination to champion the cause for  education in K-12 settings.  She is a dedicated wife, mother, educator, and motivator who understands the importance of building sustainable parent, school, and community partnerships.  She is a former social service provider and family counselor.  Over the past 12 years, Dr. NNeka Harrison has consulted with school districts and community-based agencies on areas related to home-school partnerships, early childhood development, parental involvement, social-emotional development, and violence prevention.  

Dr. NNeka Harrison currently holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership in Early Childhood from Mills College.  She also has Bachelor's degree from Clark-Atlanta University.  Dr. NNeka Harrison and her husband, Dr. Chris  Harrison, are co-authors of How to Help Your Child Achieve Academic Success in School: Educating Your Child During the Elementary, Middle, and High School Years.

Background  

Dr. Chris Harrison is Co-Founder of Inward Journeys Consulting.  He is known as a passionate educator who is committed to raising the bar for the delivery of quality education.  Over a 14-year span, Dr. Chris Harrison has developed expertise as a classroom teacher , researcher, educational administrator, curriculum developer, and professional development trainer.  As a TELS (Technology-Enhanced Learning in Science) Fellow, he studied the role of educational leadership, school policy, and professional development in scaling up technology-enhanced learning materials in math/science to make it more accessible to diverse learning populations. 

He holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership,  two Master's degrees in Math/Science Education and Educational Leadership all from Mills College, and a Bachelor's degree from Morehouse College.  Dr. Chris Harrison has co-authored and published several articles related to teacher professional development, math/science education, and school reform.
