Our highest priorities should be to ensure the health and safety of children, to promote optimal growth and development, and to ensure the provision of family support services that improve the quality of life for members of our community.”

Since the inception of Inward Journeys Consulting, Ms. Allen has worked in various capacities such as volunteer intern, office assistant, operations supervisor, and operations manager. Dr. Dewaina Hardee
Character Education Specialist

“Educators are charged to impart the principles of morality, truth, justice, patriotism, and a true comprehension of the rights, duties, and dignity of American citizenship. Teachers' beliefs and values about the children they teach are usually not identified as causal factors with student academic or behavioral outcomes. My goal is to help teachers examine their teaching philosophy within a character education context to identify connections and disconnects that impact character/citizenship education for urban children of color.”

Dr. Dewaina Hardee, married for twenty-four years, home-schooled her four children who are now pursuing post-secondary education.  Dr. Dewaina Hardee is the Dean of Students at an elementary school in Oakland Unified School District.  She has taught in urban elementary school settings for over fifteen years.  Dr. Hardee has consulted with schools in the areas of GATE Education, Character Education, instructional coaching, and supplementary education programs.  She has also collaborated with the Mills College Teacher Education Program as a supervising teacher for new interns.

Dr. Hardee holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, an Administrative Credential, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, a B.A. degree in  Anthropology / Sociology (all from Mills College), and a multiple-subjects teaching credential.
